Man United given £72m price for PSG midfielder

Manchester United have been told by
PSG that they are to fork out £72m if
they wish to sign Italian sensation Marco
Verratti according to the Daily Star.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is said to
be a big admirer of the Italian
international and has allegedly
contemplated luring him to Old Trafford.
Target
The Premier League giants have been
regularly linked with the tenacious
central midfielder, who has emerged as
one of the best players of his kind in
world football since arriving at Paris
Saint-Germain in 2012.
Still only 22, Verratti has become an
integral member of the star-studded
squad in Paris and extended his contract
with the club until 2019 last year.
Good enough
Despite that, rumours of interest from
Real Madrid, Barcelona and several
English clubs won’t go away.
But his agent Donato Di Campli insists
only a megabucks offer would be enough
to land him in today’s market.
He told France Football: “If Kevin De
Bruyne signs for City for €80 million,
then €100 million for Marco does not
seem a heresy.
“I hear here and there that Pogba is
€100m. For me, Verratti is worth as
much.”
Not interested?
A report earlier in the year published by
the Express described how Marco
Verratti allegedly ‘hit out’ at Man United
for not showing enough faith in Juventus
midfielder Paul Pogba, who was sold by
the club having only made a handful of
first team appearances.
Could this potentially see Verratti opt
against a move to Old Trafford and to a
Spanish Club or even worse for Van Gaal,
a rival English Club?
