Jose Mourinho claims he does not fear Chelsea sack ahead of clash with Liverpool
Mourinho could face the axe from Chelsea owner
Roman Abramovich if the lunchtime kick off
against Jurgen Klopp’s team goes badly wrong,
and there is another outburst against referees
from the Special One.
Chelsea, lying 15th in the table, have made the
worst start in their Premier League history, and
Mourinho is under massive pressure.
But the Portuguese, who was publicly backed by
Abramovich three weeks ago, said: “I’m not
worried about that my job. At all.
“I don’t spend one second of my day thinking
about it.
“I’m worried about the results. I’m worried about
winning today, about qualifying for the next
round of the Champions League. “Worried about
recovering our position in the table, and to going
back to where Chelsea normally has to be.
“It looks like people want to put a lot of pressure
on me, but they can’t do it.
“People have been very critical of the owner
when he made other decisions about managers.
But now people want to push him for another
decision. This is not my problem.”
Mourinho said yesterday that he cannot now
guarantee Champions League football next
season, after five defeats in Chelsea’s opening
ten league games. Chelsea will make a decision
on key striker Diego Costa this morning after
checks on his rib injury.
