APC to replace Audu as supplementary elections hold on Dec. 5

In order to conclude the Kogi State
governorship elections, the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC) on
Tuesday asked the All Progressives
Congress (APC) to present another
governorship candidate to replace late
Abubakar Audu who died on Sunday.
The electoral body has also fixed
December 5 as the date for the
supplementary elections  in 91 polling
units where elections were cancelled.
Audu was the original candidate of APC
before his  death.
The results of the elections from 21 local
government areas in the State already
announced by INEC show that late Audu
of APC polled a total of 240, 867 votes
while incumbent governor and
candidate of tne PDP had 199, 514 votes.
The Returning Officer, Emmanuel Kucha,
said the election was inconclusive
because margin between the votes for
the two leading contenders amounts to
41, 353 while the total number of
cancelled votes is 49, 953 from 91 polling
units, in 18 local government areas.
