Louis van Gaal confirms Maurouane Fellaini is injured
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal
has explained Marouane Fellaini’s absence
from the squad against West Brom by
confirming that he picked up an injury on the
eve of the game.
No more details have yet been disclosed
regarding the severity of the injury that
he picked up in training, however, so it
remains to be seen how long Van Gaal will be
without his services.
Although his injury is a blow to United, it is
fair to say that the 27-year-old has not been a
regular for the side so far this season, making
the vast majority of his appearances as an
impact substitute.
However, the midfielder joins the likes of Luke
Shaw, Paddy McNair, Antonio Valencia and
James Wilson on the sidelines.
Fellaini has started just one game in the top-
flight this season – as a makeshift striker in
their 3-1 victory over Liverpool on September
12th – and since then he has played just 93
minutes of football in the league in four more
appearances.
