Should Cristiano Ronaldo have been sent off for
elbowing Dani Alves in the head in the first half
of El Clasico on Saturday?
Real Madrid’s superstar drew plenty of criticism
after he whacked Barcelona’s Brazilian defender
in an off-the-ball incident.
After Ronaldo played a pass to evade losing the
ball to Alves, Cristiano tried to set off upfield
only but the Madrid star ended up elbowing Alves
in the head.
There was definite contact, but was there intent?
Amazingly Ronaldo not only avoided a red card,
but he avoided any booking whatsoever.
Lucky boy!
Alves, meanwhile, was booked in the incident.
Watch the footage below, together with tweets
on the controversial moment.
Clear elbow by Cristiano Ronaldo on
Dani Alves. Should be a red card.

Cristiano Ronaldo could've been sent off
in that play. Not saying that was
necessary the right call though.
