EMBARRASSMENT AT MOURINHO'S REPEATED PUBLIC FAUX-PAS
It's not just Mourinho's image that has taken
a kicking in the last few months because of
his actions.
The club's name has also been dragged
through the mud and the board are known to
be losing patience with the manager's public
statements.
The Blues hierarchy backed their manager
during the Eva Carneiro saga despite knowing
it was a public relations disaster as they took
fire from all angles for his inexplicable
treatment of the club's medical staff.
But patience has run out with his constant
complaints against officials and allusions
towards some sort of grand conspiracy
against himself and Chelsea.
Mourinho's rants against officials resulted in
a stadium ban for Saturday's defeat to Stoke
City, while there have been seemingly regular
fines along the way.
It is embarrassing that Mourinho should seek
to blame everyone but himself, while his
potshots at Arsene Wenger are far less
amusing when Chelsea sit 16th in the table
and Arsenal are second only on goal
difference.
Roman Abramovich is known for being
notoriously private and publicity shy, so what
must he think of Mourinho's constant
outbursts?
It has got to the stage where many at
Stamford Bridge are asking serious questions
about Mourinho's outlook as his second spell
at Chelsea becomes defined by a constant
sense of paranoia and suspicion.
