Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho set to gamble with move for Man United reject
CHELSEA are lining up a shock swoop for
Manchester United reject Javier Hernandez,
according to reports.
The Sunday People claim Jose Mourinho is on the
lookout for a proven Premier League goal-scorer
and the Mexico international could fit the bill.
Controversial Spain striker Diego Costa has
struggled to find consistency this campaign and
Monaco loanee Radamel Falcao has
underwhelmed.
Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal offloaded the 27-
year-old in the summer.
He joined the Bundesliga club having spent all of
last season on loan at Spanish giants Real
Madrid.
The versatile striker has bagged 12 goals in 19
games for club and country this season.
It's thought the Blues would need to stump up
around £8.5m to secure his services from
Leverkusen.
Speaking earlier this season, Hernandez claimed
he wanted to start enjoying football again.
He said: "I want to go back to feeling important
and happy. I want to find happiness.
"Bayer made me feel important and loved and
coming here was not a difficult decision to
make. They made me feel wanted."
