Liverpool Close On Deal For Brazilian Star, Fee Agreed
Liverpool have an agreement in place with
Corinthians for the transfer of striker
Alexandre Pato, according to reports.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that a
fee of £14.2million has been agreed in principle
between the Reds and the Serie A outfit, via the
Metro .
Pato is currently on loan at Sao Paulo and has
10 goals so far this campaign, with the club
currently fifth in the table, trailing the forward’s
parent club Corinthians by 20 points.
The Brazil international spent five years in Serie
A with AC Milan between 2007 and 2012, scoring
51 goals in 117 league appearances for the
Italian giants before sealing a return to his native
Brazil.
Liverpool’s frontline has been ravaged with
injuries throughout the season, with Daniel
Sturridge and Christian Benteke both having
spells on the sidelines and summer addition
Danny Ings ruled out for the rest of the season
with a cruciate injury.
The Reds host Crystal Palace at Anfield on
Sunday and will be looking to bag their third win
in as many games in all competitions following
victories over Chelsea and Rubin Kazan in their
previous two fixtures.
