Manchester United fans call for Jesse Lingard to be taken off after disappointing first half [Tweets]

Manchester United fans are still waiting for their
side to end the current goal drought they’re on
and believe that Louis van Gaal must take off
Jesse lingard if they’re to find the back of the
net.
The academy product failed to impress in the
first half of their Champions League match
against CSKA Moscow with fans accusing him of
being wasteful on the ball.
In defence of Lingard, other fans are saying that
he’s clearly trying and his head isn’t dropping.
However, all the good will in the world doesn’t
translate into goals. United fans are asking for
Memphis Depay to be brought off the bench in
the hope that he can add to his European tally.
Depay has been out of favour recently due to his
inconsistent performances but his raw ability
means that he’s always capable of creating or
finishing a chance.
See what United fans made of the first half in
the tweets below.

Lingard's touch and passing heavy at
times but still doing a lot of
encouraging things, movement has been
very good

Mata and Young bossing the right side
– Lingard fires over. After his run
against them in Moscow could this be
his night? #MUFC vs #CSKA

Lingard's been atrocious tonight,
wouldn't mind seeing Memphis coming
on at half-time for him.

Lingard has blown his chance tonight.
Had loads of the ball but been so poor
in execution. Trying too hard

I think Lingard needs to come off. Time
for Pereira.

Blind's long balls could find the reason
Lingard got the start over Pereira

People complain that United are not
taking risks. Lingard attacks, takes
risks, doesn't come off, people complain

Not surprised at all at the fact that we
havent won a single game since
Lingard's been in the first team picture.
Championship level at best

Lingard's now 22 and has only just got
into the XI, and even so, hasn't looked
the brightest spark. Wasted far too
many opportunities.
