Disappointed Super Eagles Make Strong Egypt Vow Against Return Leg


Super Eagles of Nigeria has expressed its disappointment with the 1-all draw with the Pharaohs of Egypt in their AFCON 2017 qualifying match on Friday in Kaduna.


The team took to its official Twitter handle on Saturday to say not only how disappointed it is with the draw but to also assure Nigerians who wanted more because they believed the team could have done better that it would do better.

The team also promised to go to Egypt for the return on March 29 with a lot of firepower and urged fans to support its efforts.

“We’re disappointed with the draw but our heads are unbowed. We’ll storm Alexandria, Egypt in high spirits. With your support, we’ll triumph,” it tweeted.

The Eagles had been coasting home to a 1-0 victory after a goal from Etebo Oghenekaro in the 60th minute when the Egyptians grabbed a late equalizer in the injury time through Mohammed Salah to hold Nigeria.


Meanwhile, the team’s travel plans to Alexandria, Egypt has changed as the team will now fly out later today aboard a chartered flight as against the initial public flight order by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick.

“Our travel plans to Alexandria, Egypt have been modified. We’ll now travel via chartered flight from Abuja Monday. Thanks for your support,” the team tweeted Saturday morning
