BURNA BOY DEMONSTRATES “THE UNRELENTING NATURE OF NIGERIANS” WITH NEW VIDEO ‘YE’
Following the release of Outside earlier this year, Nigerian star Burna Boy returns with a visual for ‘Ye’, which is perfect listening for these late summer months.
The stylised visual sees him performing in front of some bright lights and a Bentley, with low camera angles that bring to mind classic Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott and Bad Boy videos.
“Ye is a song that essentially shows the unrelenting nature of Nigerians,” Burna Boy told The Fader. “We thrive despite the leadership and circumstances. Everyone has big dreams that logically may or may not be achieved; Aspiring to have a Bentley, g-wagon regardless of their current situation… So the video was just a fun situation, I was trying to show the general idea behind that expression. Always strive to live your life to the fullest, as we hope for a better tomorrow.”
The track recently saw a spike in popularity when fans were drawn to it while searching for Kanye West‘s new album of the same name.
