Cristiano Ronaldo names his favourite football manager - it's not Mourinho
As one of the world's best football players,
Cristiano Ronaldo has naturally had the chance
to work with some of the biggest names in
management throughout an illustrious career.
Since joining Real Madrid in 2009, Ronaldo has
played under Manuel Pellegrini, Jose Mourinho,
Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez. All huge
names but none compare, to the man who
originally plucked him from obscurity and helped
him onto the world stage.
Ronaldo's relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson has
been well documented. The Scottish manager
brought him to Manchester United from Sporting
Lisbon and instilled tremendous faith into him.
As a cocky 18-year-old with a slender frame,
Ronaldo seemed to embody everything that a
Premier League player shouldn't. But Ferguson
saw something many others did not; a potential
global star.
And, speaking to ITV chatshow host Jonathan
Ross, Ronaldo admitted it was Ferguson's ability
to man-manage that places him above the likes
of Mourinho.
