Liverpool have an agreement to sign Alexandre Pato from Corinthians [Alfredo Pedulla]
A big transfer rumour took hold on
Saturday: Liverpool have an agreement to sign
Alexandre Pato from Corinthians.
The story was broken by Italian journalist Alfredo
Pedulla , who carries a reputation of knowing
what he’s talking about.
Alfredo Pedulla broke the story on his own
website, revealing that Jurgen Klopp’s team are
reportedly ready to shell out 20 million euros on
the Brazilian striker.
For weeks, if not months, Pato has been linked
with a return to European football.
Since his days at AC Milan, the 26-year-old has
had an up and down career, however recent
times have seen the striker excel on loan at Sao
Paulo where he scored 26 goals in 57 games.
Pato has since returned Corinthians, where he’s
under contract until 2016, but all indications are
that the attacker will leave the club in the near
future.
Returning to the Liverpool deal, Pedulla notes
that there are still some details which are
“missing”, however he’s confident the move
could materialise.
The news could be a boost for the Reds, as
they’ve nursed injures to Daniel Sturridge and
Christian Benteke this season, while Danny Ings
is out for the year.
Liverpool take on Crystal Palace on Sunday at
Anfield.
