Reports: Real Madrid ready to “rescue” Memphis Depay from Man Utd
Spanish giants Real Madrid are set to rescue
Memphis Depay from his struggles at
Manchester United, according to the
Daily Telegraph .
Memphis, 21, signed for United in the summer,
putting pen to paper on a £150,000-a-week
deal (per the Daily Telegraph ) and initially
looked like a great signing for the Red Devils,
but things have taken a turn in the opposite
direction.
The young Dutch star was the top scorer in
the Eredivisie last season with 22 goals for
PSV as they won the title.
After scoring just once for United in the
Premier League, though, and rumours of
trouble behind the scenes, he has lost his
place in the side and now Louis van Gaal is
preferring to play Anthony Martial out of
position on the left wing.
Also, youngster Jesse Lingard is getting a lot
more action than Memphis – who scored two
goals at the World Cup last summer –
currently is, and Real Madrid are now
rumoured to be interested.
