Bigi Boss bags 'Made in Nigeria' Ambassador Award
The flagship Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Practitioners-NIPR Lagos, established in 1963 has made Mr. Seleem Adegunwa, Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited 'Made in Nigeria' Ambassador
during its 5th Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders' Conference, themed
"Addressing Communication and Reputation Challenges of 'MADE IN NIGERIA'
held at Agip Recital Hall, Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos on Thursday.
The event which was an advocacy initiative, enhanced
public perception of 'Made in Nigeria' and changed the negative
narratives, defined the right communication strategy, set the stage for
positive stakeholders' engagement on the way forward and recognised some
promoters in the country, was well attended.
It also engaged key stakeholders including decision
makers in government , regulators, corporate organisations,
Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, major Chambers of Commerce in
Nigeria, the Media and Communication practitioners for better strategies
to address the communication and reputation challenges facing 'MADE IN
NIGERIA'.
Mrs. Toyin Sanni, the Conference Speaker, said "If you
say 'Made in Nigeria' is bad, it then means that, you are bad because
you are also 'Made in Nigeria'; Our perception must change to 'Made in
Nigeri' products and Services."
The Conference addressed aggregate collective intelligence to change the negative narration of the product called 'Nigeria'.
It was mentioned that the over dependence on importation
has had a serious adverse effect on Nigeria's economy and it has
affected the Country's GDP.
Manufacturers were however enjoined to concentrate more on quality rather than quantity".
During the discussion, Mr. Seleem Adegunwa established
that his company; "Rite Foods Limited has a world class facility in
Ososa and this can be confirmed by visiting the site: http://www.ritefoodsltd.com. He said the factory is second to none in Africa Continent and that includes the multinationals."
He said the product called 'Nigeria' is a true recap of
what we Nigerians are, which is the best; claiming that there are good
and better side of Nigerians than what has been projected to the world.
Adegunwa whose company was one of the programme's
sponsors said his company is "ready to support the 'Made In Nigeria'
initiatives to prove to the world that Nigerians are good products and
we produce good products and services".
"Being nominated as the 'Made In Nigeria Ambassador'
will encourage me to do more in terms of encouraging and supporting
younger entrepreneurs that wants to produce and render services that are
Made In Nigeria. They will also join us on this quest that will change
the negative perception of the product called Nigeria to the best the
world has never seen before now", Adegunwa affirms during an interview.
Others who were also recognised and awarded along with
the Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited are: Mrs. Toyin Sanni, Chief
Executive Officer, Emerging Africa Capital Group, Yinka Osubu Furniture
Manufacturer, Adedayo Ojo Corporate Communication Specialist, Public
Relations Veteran and Entrepreneur, among others.
